Marathon SP213820 Titanium Fused 3800w Upper Element

The SP213820 is an upper Marathon water heater element. The SP213820 Marathon water heater element is fused, titanium plated, and rated 3800 watt.  This Marathon water heater element can be used to replace or upgrade existing upper elements in the following Marathon water heaters:

Element Selection
It is very important to choose the correct model number when purchasing a replacement Marathon water heater element for your water heater. There are distinct differences between upper and lower water heater elements as well as the type of element being purchased. Here is a brief outline of the different types of Marathon water heater elements available:

• Standard Copper Water Heater Elements - Standard Marathon water heater elements are made of copper and are the default for upper elements in all new Marathon water heaters. Copper elements used to be standard for lower elements in older Marathon water heater models. Rheem has now moved to using titanium for lower elements.
• Stainless Steel Water Heater Elements - Stainless steel Marathon water elements provide better resistance from harsh water conditions than standard copper elements. Marathon water heater elements are not longer available in stainless steel.
• Premium Titanium Water Heater Elements - Titanium plated Marathon water heater elements provide the maximum protection from harsh water conditions. Titanium Marathon water heater elements are a factory standard as upper and lower element in Marathon's heavy duty line of water heaters. Titanium water heater elements are also standard as lower water heater elements in new standard Marathon water heaters. Titanium water heater elements can be purchased as upgrade or replacement for all Rheem Marathon water heaters.

Please be sure to use only fused elements for the upper element on all Marathon water heater models. Fused elements provide the necessary protection against dry firing a Marathon water heater.
