Marathon SP213670 Titanium 4500w Lower Element

The SP213670 is a titanium plated lower Marathon water heater element for use in select 4500 watt Marathon water heaters. This lower Marathon water heater element (SP213670) can be used as replacement or upgrade for lower water heater elements for the following Rheem Marathon water heaters:

• MR50245
• MR75245
• MR85245
• MR105245
• MSR50245

Element Selection
It's very important to choose the correct model number when purchasing a replacement element for your water heater. There are distinct differences between upper and lower elements as well as the type of element being purchased. Here is a brief outline of the different types of Marathon elements available:

• Standard Copper Water Heater Elements - Standard Marathon water heater elements are made of copper and are the default for upper elements in all new Marathon water heaters. Copper elements used to be standard for lower elements in older Marathon water heaters. Rheem has now moved to using titanium as standard material for lower water heater elements.
• Upgraded Stainless Steel Water Heater Elements - Stainless steel was used as material for lower water heating elements in Marathon water heaters between 2007-2009. Stainless steel Marathon water heater elements are not longer available. The new standard for lower Marathon water heater elements is titanium.
• Premium Titanium Water Heater Elements - Titanium plated Marathon water heater elements provide the maximum protection from harsh water conditions. Titanium Rheem Marathon water heater elements are now used as lower water heater elements in all Marathon water heaters. Titanium Marathon water heater elements can be used to replace or upgrade in all existing or new Marathon water heaters.

Please be sure to use only fused elements for the upper element on all Marathon water heater models. Fused elements provide the necessary protection against dry firing a Marathon water heater.
